Lasik Correction and Surgery Cost
Be Wary of Bargain Buy Eye Surgery Offers
The cost of Lasik correction and surgery can be as high as $2,300 or as low as $400. If one surgeon offers you the high price and another surgeon offers you the bargain buy, is it not an obvious decision which one to take? After all, one must save as much money as possible in this time of economic crisis.
You must be careful when choosing which surgeon to operate on your eye as less experienced ones will tend to offer lower prices. Some surgeons also quote prices that are not all-inclusive of the total costs you will have to pay.
For example, $400 may only pay for the pre-operation examination, but not the operation itself. You could be paying for the operation, but not the follow up medications you will be using afterwards. It would be best to research in the real cost of an operation from reputable Lasik websites, so that you will have a clearer picture of what you are getting into.
Also, some eye centers advertise a bargain price for their services, just to trick you into contacting them. Be wary of bargain offers because a good quality and safe operation will never be that cheap. These are the usual competitive prices of Lasik procedures:
• $2,000, on average, for the complete laser eye correction procedures
• A few hundred above $2,000, on average, for the IntraLase Lasik Wavefront procedures
• And, $1600, on average, for the non-Wavefront Lasik procedures in which a blade or excimer lasers are used.
More information on these procedures can be found in one of my earlier posts, but the important thing is that you know how much Lasik correction and surgery really cost.
